New for 2026 Apply once and be considered for every monthly selection through December 2026 — no need to reapply each round.
Program Update The Grant Model Has Changed Verizon and LISC updated how the $10,000 grant works for 2026. If you've been waiting to apply — or if you applied before April 15, 2026 — here's what you need to know.
2026 — New Model Apply Once. Stay In All Year. Submit a single application at any point in 2026 and remain in the pool for every monthly selection from June through December. Ten businesses are selected each month, with a final selection decision in January 2027. One application, multiple chances.
Previous Model — No Longer Active Annual Application Windows The previous model required applying during specific grant windows with a single annual deadline. That structure no longer applies for 2026. Applications submitted before April 15, 2026 under the old model are not carried forward.

Applied before April 15, 2026? You'll need to submit a new application under the updated 2026 guidelines to be considered for this year's grant selections. Your program account and course progress carry over — only the grant application needs to be resubmitted.

Nonprofits are not eligible The grant program is limited to for-profit businesses only.

How Winners Are Chosen The Selection Process
  • 01
Anonymous Drawing Initial selection begins with an anonymous drawing to give every eligible applicant an equal chance of being chosen, regardless of business size or industry.
  • 02
Geographic & Industry Balance An algorithm is applied to ensure selections reflect geographic and industry diversity across applicants nationally — so Idaho businesses can compete on equal footing.
  • 03
Priority for Underserved Communities Businesses in low-to-moderate income (LMI) and under-resourced communities receive priority consideration — aligning with Verizon's Citizen commitment to equitable access.
  • 04
Background Verification Selected finalists go through a documentation and background review before the award is finalized. No credit check is required. Grantees receive IRS Form 1099; taxes are the recipient's responsibility.
$10,000 Per selected business · No repayment required Grants are awarded by Verizon and LISC — not ITC.
