Expanding Awards for Idaho's Tech Community
The Idaho Technology Council (ITC) is thrilled to announce the inaugural Tech Top 50 Awards, an exciting new addition to our annual Idavation Awards! This expansion reflects ITC's ongoing commitment to celebrating the innovation, leadership, and technical expertise that make Idaho's tech community thrive. The Tech Top 50 will spotlight the standout doers, movers, and shakers across 15 award categories, recognizing those whose contributions are shaping the future of technology in Idaho.
Nomination Process: Nominations for the Tech Top 50 are open to the public. Eligible nominees will be invited to provide detailed responses to questions tailored to each award category. These responses will be reviewed by a diverse pool of judges from across Idaho’s tech community, coordinated by ITC staff and volunteers. To ensure fairness and transparency, nominee eligibility and judge’s scores will be independently audited.
Key Dates:
- The Top 50 honorees will be announced 60 days before the event.
- Winners will be revealed live at the Idavation Awards Luncheon, held on Thursday, October 16, 2025, at Boise Centre. Later that evening, winners in each category will be celebrated again at the Hall of Fame Gala.

2025 ITC Awards Categories

This event is dedicated to connecting, uniting, developing, and promoting Idaho’s rich community of developers, technology entrepreneurs, enthusiasts, and institutions with awards in 15 categories. We accept nominations to recognize outstanding doers, movers, and shakers. The top 50 honorees will be announced 60 days prior to the event celebration. The winners will be announced live at the Idavation Awards Luncheon, on Thursday, October 16, at Boise Centre before the Hall of Fame Gala that evening. Winners in each category will additionally be recognized at the Gala.
Chief Information Officer (CIO) of the Year
This award recognizes the top Chief Information Officer in Idaho. Nominees must have demonstrated leadership, driven innovation, and delivered value to their organization. They must be leaders in their IT organization and have made a significant impact on an organization based in or with a significant presence in Idaho. Commitment to the technology community is also an important aspect of this award. Nominees must currently be a CIO or the most senior IT professional in their organization and reside in Idaho.
Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) of the Year
This award is presented to the top senior information security professional in Idaho. Nominees must have demonstrated leadership in their field, enhancing and safeguarding their organizations’ data and technology resources, creating a security-conscious culture, and delivering value to their organization. They must be leaders in their organization and have made a significant impact that positively affects Idaho. Commitment to the technology community is also an important aspect of this award.d by a panel of independent judges.
Chief Technology Officer (CTO) of the Year
This award recognizes the top Chief Technology Officer in Idaho. Nominees must be leaders in their IT organization and have made a significant impact on an organization based in or with a significant presence in Idaho. Commitment to the technology community is also an important aspect of this award. Nominees must currently be a CTO or the most senior equivalent IT professional in their organization and reside in Idaho.
Outstanding Woman in Tech Award
This award celebrates an extraordinary woman in Idaho who has pioneered innovative solutions and demonstrated groundbreaking achievements in the technology sector. Nominees must have played a pivotal role in driving technological advancements, fostering creativity, and delivering measurable impact within an organization or community with a significant Idaho presence. A dedication to empowering others and contributing to the state’s tech ecosystem is also essential. Nominees must currently be active in a professional or entrepreneurial capacity in Idaho. .
Data Professional of the Year
This award is presented to a data analyst, data scientist, or business intelligence professional in Idaho. Nominees must have demonstrated measurable impact on innovation in their business through the use of data analytics, data science, artificial intelligence, or machine learning. They should also be viewed as subject matter experts in their organization. Involvement in user groups, participation in hackathons or competitions, and furthering the development of the region’s technology community is a plus. Nominees must currently reside in Idaho.
Information Security Professional of the Year
This award recognizes an outstanding individual or lead in Idaho who has made significant contributions to safeguarding data, systems, and networks, and has consistently exhibited excellence in protecting organizations from evolving cyber threats. Nominees have demonstrated exceptional expertise in information security, including proactive threat mitigation, innovation in security measures, successful security audits and compliance efforts, and significant contributions to enhancing an organization’s security posture and resilience.
Innovative Technology of the Year
This award recognizes the most innovative technology initiative in Idaho. This award is presented to the team that has produced the technology-based product, service, or process that significantly enhances customer experience, business profitability or efficiency, or industry impact. Nominees must currently reside in Idaho.
Investor in Innovation Award
This award recognizes individuals or organizations that have made significant investments in Idaho-based companies, driving innovation and growth in the tech industry. Nominees must have demonstrated a commitment to fostering innovation through financial support, mentorship, or other resources. Their investments should have led to measurable positive outcomes for the companies they support and contributed to the overall growth of Idaho’s tech ecosystem.
Software Engineer of the Year
This award is presented to the top software engineer in Idaho. Nominees showcased exceptional expertise in various programming languages, software development methodologies, security, and system architecture design. Their work has resulted in the creation of innovative and scalable solutions that have significantly impacted their organization and addressed complex technical challenges.
Technology Company of the Year
This award is a celebration of an organization that builds and sells technology in Idaho that contributes to the overall growth of our region’s tech industry. Nominees, from the top leadership down to every team member, demonstrate a genuine dedication to cultivating a positive and inclusive work culture that sets an inspiring example for the entire tech industry. Nominees are recognized for their outstanding achievements, innovation, and the value they provide to their end customers.
