The Idaho Technology Council (ITC) is the voice from industry driving innovation in the state of Idaho. The ITC advances workforce development and the talent pipeline as a critically important initiative as Idaho continues to grow more high-paying, quality jobs. Strategic workforce development provides a uniform entry point for K-20, alternative, and career change education, creating solutions for future opportunities. Ensuring that Idaho develops and maintains talent that is world-class and prepared to enter the tech ecosystem. This includes advocating the importance of computer science to primary and secondary educators and students and putting Idaho talent first so companies do not have to look elsewhere.
The ITC creates a network for advancing private companies in Idaho and connects to national/international networks. The events ITC hosts, provide a perfect venue for expanding a company’s network both locally and nationally.
The ITC provides a strong voice in Idaho for investing in technology, basic research, and development. This forms the base for new innovations needed to grow Idaho companies and keep them competitive. The ITC supports the omnipresent need to up-the-game for research commercialization through Tech2Market, and similar strategies. Creating and maintaining capital streams that partner with start-ups to grow Idaho’s tech future.
The ITC is instrumental in building advocacy needed to persuade legislators and private industry to invest in high return initiatives that are necessary to propel new companies forward, along with retention and growth with existing companies.
The ITC was founded in 2008 to fill a void found while founder/CEO Jay Larsen was compiling data for a project assigned by a US Representative to look for voices in Idaho’s technology community. While researching, it became clear that there was significant opportunity across the state’s economic regions for a unified voice.
Historically, Idaho has been known for its spirit of innovation.
