SPARK: AI at the Human Interface
May 20 @ 11:30 am - 12:30 pm MDT
Josh will peel back the hype on AI and Machine Learning and provide a roadmap for integrating these technologies within an organization. AI is defined at the human interface and is a result achieved through intentional product design and technology implementation. Josh will describe how this human-centered understanding of AI is a useful guiding principle for transforming the organization (Sales, Product, Marketing, Operations, Engineering) to provide greater value through automated solutions, using Kount’s AI transformation as an example.
Josh Johnston is an artificial intelligence scientist who exploits information, automates decisions, and focuses attention on relevant data. Josh has led research teams fighting credit card fraud and building autonomous and remotely operated robots for Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA), NASA, Army, Air Force, and Navy labs. His past programs include developing self-driving cars, autonomy for bomb disposal robots, the Sea Hunter unmanned anti-submarine warfare vessel, and scientific visualization in virtual reality and augmented reality. He received a Bachelor of Science in electrical engineering and mechanical engineering from Duke University and a Master of Science in robotics from Carnegie Mellon University.
