SPARKLIGHT PROVIDES ADDITIONAL RELIEF MEASURES TO SUPPORT FAMILIES IN NEED

 
 

Sparklight is offering a 15 Mbps internet plan for $10 per month for the next 60 days (effective March 19th) to help low income families and those most impacted from coronavirus challenges, such as seniors and college students.

No documentation will be required to sign up for this plan.

Earlier this week, the company opened free WiFi hotspots in Sparklight local office parking lots across its footprint for public use during the crisis in order to keep individuals and communities connected. The company will work to open additional WiFi hotspots in other public areas in the coming days and weeks. 
Beginning March 13, 2020, Sparklight made unlimited data available on all internet services for 30 days and committed to waiving late fees and deferring payments for 60 days for customers experiencing financial strain as a result of the coronavirus (COVID-19).
 
The company also stands ready to support critical infrastructure with speed upgrades and other requests to ensure ongoing and reliable service for local educators and health care professionals, including customers under federal rural healthcare and E-rate programs.
 
Sparklight will continue evaluating all measures being taken based on the ongoing impact and evolving nature of the pandemic.

MICRON PROVIDES FINANCIAL RELIEF ACROSS THE GLOBE

Micron is dedicating $35 million to support global communities and to provide financial relief for those affected by the COVID-19 pandemic.
The company will launch a new Micron Foundation $10 million relief fund, increase employee gift matching, and introduce financial assistance for team 
 
 
members through grants. “Micron is prioritizing the health and safety of our team members and partners, and the well-being of the communities in which we operate,” said Micron President and Chief Executive Officer Sanjay Mehrotra. “As the scale of the COVID-19 pandemic becomes more apparent, we are immediately accelerating our efforts to provide funding, resources and support to those most impacted by this health crisis.”
 
 

ALBERTSONS SET UP AN IN STORE DONATION CAMPAIGN

 
 

The campaign helps feed families in need during this current crisis. Customers have the opportunity to donate at the check stand on the PIN pad when they pay for their groceries. It goes to support our local food banks who are either helping take care of families that have been impacted by the COVID crisis or schools that are running a breakfast or lunch program.

 All of those dollars go directly to our local food banks and stays local. And Albertsons Companies and the Albertsons Companies Foundation has pledged to match $3 million dollars. For individuals who can’t get to the store and want to help, they can donate at the Albertsons Companies Foundation website.

 
 

CORONAVIRUS AID, RELIEF, AND ECONOMIC SECURITY ACT (“CARES ACT”)

The recent Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security Act (“CARES Act”) allocated $350 billion to the new Small Business Administration’s Paycheck Protection Program, which expands allowable uses of SBA 7(a) loans to support payroll costs, rent, mortgage interest, utilities, and interest on existing debt obligations.
 
 
The SBA announced guidelines for lenders regarding the Paycheck Protection Program this afternoon.
