Description
The Software Tester II is responsible ensuring the release of high quality products. The Software Tester II will work with development teams to design, develop, and execute manual and exploratory test strategies. This individual will demonstrate ownership and enthusiasm over the Software Testing craft with a particular focus on developing testable software.
Duties & Responsibilities

Interacts with other departments and internal users as part of development of software, test plans and automated tests for Healthwise’s Products and Systems.

Focuses on understanding product specifications, creating test plans, setting up test environments, developing, executing and maintaining test suites, and result analysis.

Helps improve our continuous integration processes as we seek to build, deploy, test, and report nightly.

Responsible for defect reporting, issue tracking, and system level troubleshooting.

Contributes to development of company-wide quality objectives, principles, and processes while achieving goals in creative and effective ways.

Performs other duties as assigned or needed.
Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree in a technical discipline, or equivalent experience of 4-6 years in a related field.

2+ years analyzing system features and functionality and determining the best approach and techniques to conduct testing (black box, white box, stress/load, exploratory, data integrity, security, and automation).
Demonstrate Skills and Knowledge

Knowledge and experience testing web-based applications and services.

This is a hands-on position that must have a strong command of software testing theory and practice.

Scrum development process knowledge and experience.

Experience developing automated tests using Visual Studio Team System “Tester” and Team Foundation Server strongly desired.

Ability to prioritize tasks, to organize, and to coordinate a high volume of information.

Outgoing team player with good written and verbal communication skills.

Strong interpersonal and interviewing skills with the ability to develop specifications.
