Operations Manager

What you'll be doing:

The Operations Manager will be responsible for system administration of our data center including all SaaS application servers, database servers, backup infrastructure and network infrastructure. Activities include system selection, configuration, monitoring, security, compliance, maintenance, and performance tuning. This position also has on-call requirements.

What skills you need:

In general, we are looking for a system administrator with a strong data center operations background that can learn quickly, work well in a team, and thrive in a fast moving, constantly changing environment. If you prefer to configure hardware systems in a vacuum where you talk to your fellow team members once a month or so, this is not the place for you. If you come to work every day with a positive attitude ready to collaboratively attack whatever the current problem is, this is your kind of company.

What responsibilities you will have:

• Install, configure, and maintain Linux-based operating systems.
• Deploy security and other pertinent system patches on a regular basis.
• Tune and analyze systems for optimal performance.
• Develop, deploy, execute and maintain system shell scripts.
• Monitor production system for security and availability.
• Participate actively in an agile environment.

The ideal candidate should have:

• Experience managing and maintaining CentOS-based operating systems
• Experience with Bash scripts
• Experience deploying and maintaining n-tier applications across multiple servers
• Experience with MySQL
• Experience with Apache Tomcat
