The ITC Software Alliance

Goal: Promoting the quantity and quality of software developers in Idaho.

Background:

The software alliance is dedicated to the promotion and development of software developers in the state of Idaho. As a group of dedicated business people with a goal of collaboration and communication to improve the economic opportunities for students, employees and businesses – we are working to bring increased awareness of the necessary skills along with the opportunity before us to help grow and nurture this important industry.

There are three core areas of focus and committees for the Software Alliance:

Education

Focused on engaging students in Computer Science to increase program retention rates and fostering internship programs with industry participation and local Universities.  This committee hosts an outstanding program called “CS Extras” and is designed to educate and motivate Idaho students to enter and finish a Computer Science degree or related program. Community and Collaboration

Focused on building strong collaboration across the software alliance and industry to help increase the visibility and opportunity in Idaho for software developers and the businesses requiring software resources.

Marketing

One of the main events that the Software Alliance hosts is the “develop.Idaho” event.  This half-day conference gathering provides outstanding presentations from industry experts and networking opportunities in addition to a software solution faire in the evening with national exposure to technology experts.  Look for the 2nd annual “develop.Idaho” event next spring!
