Chief Architect

We are a start up with an experienced founding team who is looking to add technical excellence to our management team. We are creating a social platform, with all the attributes of any scalable, social, digital consumer platform. One key differentiator is that our platform is going to change consumer philanthropy and the overall giving landscape, so there is tremendous social benefit and excitement around what we're doing.

You most likely already have a job and are busy, but are looking for a bigger challenge and want to make a bigger difference via the work you do.

You will own technical development and technical direction of our product. You will be responsible for defining, directing, delivering and leading the company's technology development, operations and solutions. As is typical in any early stage company, you will roll up your sleeves and get things done on the ground floor, but will also manage a team and contribute to product direction.
 

Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with executive team on technology, process and solutions to support strategic initiatives.
• Work within a high performance distributed architecture .
• Lead platform development in a LAMP environment.
• Ultimately own the quality of the product we deliver.
• Determine optimum strategies for integrating with external data feeds and partners.

Requirements:

• 7+ years of experience in software design and development, ideally in highly scalable consumer social platform space.
• Highly self-motivated, independent, quick learner .
• Extensive experience in end to end software design and development.
• Experience with Linux-based, large-scale, distributed, web applications from front to back.
• Understands software engineering as a craft & what it take to get systems production-ready.
• Experience with web services and XML technologies critical
• Experience with security and credit card transaction systems a plus.
• Experience at fast-paced, start-up environments a plus.
• BS/MS in Computer Science or related engineering degree with equivalent work experience
